About Me
Hello, I am Julie Rainey, a Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist (C.ErgHF) and founder of Ergo & Wellbeing, Northern Ireland's specialist Ergonomics consultancy. Recognising the critical shortage of qualified Ergonomics professionals across Northern Ireland, the UK and Ireland, I established Ergo & Wellbeing in 2020 to bridge this gap, providing flexible Ergonomics consultancy for businesses of all sizes and project types, whether you need a one-off assessment or ongoing support. I deliver comprehensive workplace assessments, training and consultancy across manufacturing, office and industrial environments throughout the UK and Ireland.
Professional Qualifications & Experience
Julie holds a Masters-level qualification in Ergonomics and Human Factors (Engineering Psychology) and brings extensive industry experience from her roles as site Human Factors Ergonomist for Aston Martin in South Wales and Ergonomics Specialist at Airbus UK. This hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing environments, combined with office Ergonomics consultancy experience at Humanscale, forms the foundation of my specialist expertise.

I am a Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist (C.ErgHF) and Registered Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (MCIEHF).
CIEHF is a UK-based professional society for Ergonomists, Human Factors specialists and those involved in user-centred design. It is a community of people focused on integrated design to improve human life, wellbeing and system performance across every industry and sector. Professional members bring with them a deep knowledge and understanding of how applications of Ergonomics and Human Factors can make a significant difference to human life, wellbeing and safety whilst reducing risks of harm associated with mental and physical health.
At the request of former Chief Executive Noorzaman Rashid, Julie has presented human-centred design webinars to CIEHF leaders, members and guests and published in the organisation's 'The Ergonomist' magazine. Julie served as CIEHF Members' Network leader for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland from December 2020 to June 2023.
