Based just outside Belfast, Northern Ireland, Ergo & Wellbeing Ltd was established in 2020 by Julie Rainey, Masters level qualified Human Factors Engineer & Ergonomist (aka Engineering Psychologist). Julie decided to set up as an independent consultant after a successful role as the site Human Factors Ergonomist for Aston Martin in South Wales.
It was clear to Julie that due to the critical shortage of people with qualified Ergonomics and Human Factors skills in the UK and Ireland that offering consultancy services for ad-hoc, short or long term projects to small, medium or multnational companies was a way not only for her to get involved in many different types of interesting ergonomics challenges but also to share her knowledge and expertise where is it needed. You could say ‘ergo for hire’.
Since its creation, Ergo and Wellbeing Ltd has been providing Ergonomics & Human Factors (EHF) contracted services to a varied range of clients including, regional, national and mutinational organisations. These include companies in the aerospace sector, global sports media, ergonomic furniture and consultancy providers and health & safety organisations.
Whilst Ergo & Wellbeing Ltd covers a wide range of ergonomics needs, specialisms include;
manufacturing and production ergonomics
office ergonomics, including DSE assessments (office & home)
built environment / indoor environment design in line with the WELL Building Standard by the International World Building Institute.
