Julie Rainey

Ergo & Wellbeing Consultant Julie, is a Psychology and Spanish graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and MSc level post-graduate in Engineering Psychology and Ergonomics (aka Human Factors) from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. She has plenty of experience in corporate business settings as HR Officer, Office Manager as well as running her own successful online retail business. Julie is married and has an adult son. Her main hobby is playing golf and she was the Lady Captain at Blackwood Ladies Golf Club during 2018/19.

Julie is a Registered Member of the Irish Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (IHFES), Graduate Member of the Chartered Insititute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) and also a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

Julie has a genuine interest in and passion for the relationship between safety, comfort, wellness, efficiency, satisfaction and productivity in any working or living environment or design concept. She understands and promotes that by improving employees comfort levels, safety and satisfaction these then lead to improved morale, reduced absenteeism, increased staff retention, efficiency, quality out-put and productivity; all significant factors in improving a business's bottom-line.

Julie is also interested in and knowledgeable as to why human error occurs, how it can be prevented and how the risks can be eliminated or reduced. Experience with consumer goods, manufacturing, automotive, aviation, health & safety. Passionate and knowledgeable about healthy working environments and healthy buildings and modern workspace design.

She is a highly motivated with well-rounded skills; adaptable, pragmatic, capable, personable, excellent communication, organisational, problem solving and time management skills. Thorough knowledge of Ergonomics and Human Factors, human-centric design, user experience and systems approach, as well as competence and experience in working collaboratively and independently. Julie does not take anything at face value. She confidently identifies and raise issues and seeks effective, timely resolution. Skilled and very comfortable at jumping into unfamiliar environments, getting up to speed quickly and getting results. Past experiences both in work and personal life demonstrate this.
